unliteral

My Picasa cup runneth over. A shame really, I was hoping to make it to 29 June and have a full 4 years. I tried a few different image storing alternatives but found them somewhat unwieldy compared to the Picasa/Blogger combination. I thought that seeing as I'm moving, that I might try a different style too. Essentially it will just be a bunch of bookmarks created with the Blog this! tool as I wander around the web. It may not be your cup of tea but if you want to check it out - unliteral.

French Masters

I'm off to Canberra for a few days to take in the Masterpieces from Paris. See you after Easter. Don't eat too many eggs. Speaking of which, I found out recently that my oldest daughter had been under the belief that Easter eggs symbolised the boulder that was at the entrance to Jesus' burial cave!

I have now used over 50% of my Picasa account. That's a lot of pictures (500 in each album)… click for slideshows (oldest at the bottom).

It's back

Now the manuals have been used in the field, extensive edits and changes have been made. I'm going to be out of commission for a good while. 'Til next year - stay safe and well.

Where I've Been

For those of you wondering what I've been up to (yes, both of you), I've been working on a project (a set of manuals) for a client. It was a very tight deadline and ran to over 2,500 pages all up. There has been much burning of midnight oil and many lost weekends. Pictured, are some of the edits. Now it's put to bed I'll have some free time again. See you tomorrow.

Rift in the Space-Time Continuum

A couple of days ago I noticed that Technorati listed a blog reaction as being over 38 years ago.

Today I realised that it has happened on all blogs. Some blogs have just one time-warped entry, others have multiple. Here are a couple of random blog screen dumps from Technorati:

Podcasts

My daily commute adds up to about ten hours a week. A good portion of it is in tunnels, so listening to the radio is not possible. I used to read a lot but podcasts have just about pushed this activity out. I always have a printout of an article handy in case I do feel like reading something. I'm currently making my way through this excellent set of recommendations at Ask MetaFilter. As I said though, listening to podcasts is what I do mostly. This is where I get my ten hours:
First, a range of ABC Radio National programmes – All In The MindCounterpointLate Night LiveLife MattersNational InterestThe Philosopher's ZoneThe Science Show. MeFiPodcast duh! Open Source with Christopher Lydon, invariably has interesting and informative interviews. As their catchphrase says "An American conversation with global attitude". The often funny, always entertaining, with great science content - The Skeptics Guide to the Universe. Always funny and hugely entertaining with obscure facts, flying tangents and stories - Widely Ranging Interests.

Rama Rocks

Rama's monkey army, led by Hanuman, sings "Bolo Sabhi Jai Ram", a cheerful calypso-like number as they build the bridge to Lanka.
